Set sail for Pirate Island, the second chapter in our gripping pirate trilogy. Legend has it that Captain Calico Jack, in a bid to safeguard his ill-gotten gains, hid his treasure on a remote island, far from the prying eyes of the law. Now you find yourself on the shores of this mysterious isle, the scent of saltwater mingling with the tang of adventure in the air.


As you step ashore, you are greeted by the sight of towering palm trees, dense jungle undergrowth, and the crumbling ruins of ancient structures long forgotten by time. But amid the beauty of this tropical paradise lies a deadly secret: Captain Calico Jack's treasure, hidden somewhere on the island, waiting to be claimed by those brave enough to seek it.


Beware, for you are not alone on this island. The formidable crew of Captain Calico Jack still prowls its shores, their menacing presence palpable in every shadow and rustle of foliage. With the sun sinking low on the horizon and the sound of distant thunder rumbling in the distance, you must race against time to locate the treasure before Calico Jack's ship returns to reclaim what is rightfully his. 


While playing Pirates first is recommended, it's not required. Will you uncover the secrets of the island and claim the legendary bounty, or will you be left stranded without a chest of gold to your name? The choice is yours, brave adventurer. Choose wisely, for the fate of Pirate Island hangs in the balance.

  • Panic buttons allow you to exit the room early, if need be.
  • You will be monitored on CCTV at all times.

  • Pirates is a controlled lighting environment. It may feature periods of complete darkness and/or flashing lights. 
  • Pirates is suitable for players aged 9 and up. Children from 7 and up may attend as paid guests with family groups

Both our Perth venues, CBD and Northbridge, are wheelchair accessible. We welcome adventurers of all abilities to join our crew and experience the thrill of our pirate escape rooms. However, please note that we can accommodate only one wheelchair per session to ensure the safety and enjoyment of all participants.

  • Is Pirate Island Wheelchair Accessible?

    Pirate Island is whellchair accessible.


    However, unfortunately, we do not have the capacity to allow for more than one wheelchair per booking.

  • Do I need to play other pirate escape rooms before Pirate Island?

    We strongly recommend playing Pirates before Pirate Island to fully immerse yourself in the captivating storyline and overarching narrative of our pirate saga. 


    While not mandatory, starting with Pirates sets the stage for the adventure, introducing you to the legendary Captain Calico Jack and laying the foundation for the mysteries that await on Pirate Island. 





  • If my child is under 9 years old, can they still play Pirate Island?

    Children aged 7 years and older are welcome to participate as paid guests in our escape rooms as part of a family group. 


    However, children under the age of 7 years may attend as spectators only, and they will be counted towards the total player numbers in any room for fire safety reasons.

  • How many people can play Pirate Island at the same time?

    The maximum group size that the Pirates escape room can accomodate is 10 people.


    Our group limits are set to optimise gameplay and ensure a truly immersive experience for all our guests. Fortunately for you, it is company policy to never compromise on your gameplay experience so these limits are NOT flexible! 


    If your group is larger than 10 players we suggest that you book multiple rooms to start at the same time and split your group across the rooms. Thus ensuring the very best experience for everyone in your group.

  • Will our group be playing with strangers?

    At Escape This, all bookings are exclusive to your group. This has always been (and will remain to be) our policy before, during and after Covid.



    If you want to be locked in a room with a group of people you have never met before (some people do!) then we recommend you try another escape room experience provider.

  • How Long Does Pirate Island Last?

    You will have 60 minutes to escape find the treasure and escape Pirate Island.


    However we recommend that you arrive 15 minutes before your start time for orientation and induction procedures. There will also be 15 minutes after the session to catch your breath and debrief.


    Depending on if and how quickly you complete the escape room, your entire session may go for 90 minutes, or it may be shorter.

  • Is Pirate Island Suitable for First-Time Escapers?

    While Pirate Island presents a challenge, it remains a highly popular choice for first-time escapers. Despite its level of difficulty, it's an excellent option for newcomers seeking an exciting adventure.

This unique escape room offers a new experience. Calico Jack's treasure is within your grasp, all you have to do is open the chest. Within one hour, you must solve intricate puzzles and uncover hidden clues to open the chest before the siren's curse drags the treasure, and you, to the cold, dark depths of the sea.

I came here today with my father to play Pirate Island and it was a amazing experience. I had two different Gamesmasters, one called Alexa, she was very kind and explained the room great , the second person I had was Alex at the end who was very helpful with showing us how the last two puzzles worked. The lobby area was beautifully decorated and the inside of the escape room was great, you could really see how much effort went into the room. Even the outside of the escape room building was done to match the pirate theme. It was overall a great experience and I would highly recommend coming here.
